The Vista's Children and Young People team have been working with and alongside the Leicester Riders Foundation for several months. Together we have produced a number of different sessions and a community day. Our work together started off with a community day where we invited around sixty children/young people and their families down to the Morningside arena. At this session we participated in a session with some of the coaches, this was a lot of fun and where our passion for basketball started. We then were able to watch the Leicester Riders play a match against the Manchester Giants whilst enjoying pizza!

From this we wanted to start weekly basketball sessions! These were a huge success and were enjoyed by all those who participated. These sessions still take place every Wednesday 4:30pm – 6:00pm! We work on dribbling, shooting and lots of other drills!

From this collaborative work between Vista Children and Young People team and the Leicester Riders Foundation, we have been awarded the Leicester Riders Foundation, Sports Partnership award 2021/22. This is a huge achievement and shows all the hard work our children and young people put in weekly! The outcomes from these sessions have been amazing and we thoroughly enjoy working with the Leicester Riders Foundation.
