Vista's Children and Young People take part in Leicester Riders basketball session
29 Jul 2022
On Friday 29th July some of our children and young people joined us with the Leicester Riders to take part in a basketball session. For this activity we had children aged four to fifteen join us, this worked well as we were able to split off into two groups! As the children arrived, we started off by practicing our shooting in the different hoops around the court. This worked well as there were hoops at different levels including some floor level baskets. Once everyone had arrived the two coaches gathered all the children and young people to explain what we would be getting up to. The younger children started by working on their dribbling skills, this was tricky but as the session progressed everyone gained more control over their ball. The older group of children/young people took part in a drill, the aim of the drill was to collect as many cones as possible for their team, this was achieved through shooting and scoring! This drill promoted teamwork skills to be developed and progressed.
Overall, this was great physical challenge for all those who took part in the session. We were all definitely tired after this session!
